TALKING POINTS
TALKING POINTS
Everyone feels good about giving and helping others. Our task is to present Boys To Men Mentoring as the most compelling option this Holiday Season.
5 COMPELLING REASONS TO CONTRIBUTE
Weekly Mentoring in public schools for boys 12 to 18.
Adventure Outings each semester that enhance self awareness and connection with nature as well as offer opportunities for leadership and team building
Teet Rites of Passage where boys become young men
Grocery Gift Cards for low-income families who have a boy participating in the BTM program
Expansion: Every additional $40,000 over current operating cost gives rise to a new program at a new school
1. Boys have a safe place to talk and not feel alone. They lean how to handle feelings in a healthy way and make good choices for themselves.
2. Boys learn to support one another on a real level, be honest and keep their word
3. Less likely to skip school
4. Higher grades and test scores, leading to less High School drop-outs and more diplomas
5. Less likely to join a gang or use drugs
6. Less likely to commit suicide
7. Boys learn to respect women
8. Boys discover the values they want to live by that will keep them honorable
9. Boys learn how to be leaders and work together in cooperative collaboration
10. Boys learn the importance of being of service to others, developing valuable life skills and contributing to their community
